Resource Description
“Men women and schools of thought have reformed and/or revitalised the Christian tradition” – Question: How well does this statement reflect the impact on Christianity of ONE significant person or school of thought, other than Jesus? – Intro: In the case of Paul of Tarsus, this statement does not reflect the significant impact on Christianity and it is the opposite of what happened. Paul did not reform and revitalise the Christian tradition, he formed and vitalised its development, expression and growth to become the major world religion it is today. Paul was one of the first great creators of the Christian Church and the first significant writer of Christian scripture. He undertook three major missionary journeys across Europe which formed the religion among the Jews and gentiles. During these missionaries, he wrote epistles which have formed parts of the New Testament and established key Christian teachings. Finally, Paul developed and established major Christian theologies, rituals and practices based on Christ. Through these significant contributions by Paul, he was able to form and vitalise the Christian tradition.
