Evaluate the impact of businesses that exhibit corporate social responsibility in the management of human resources.
The concept of CSR has been adopted by several corporations to acknowledge the various economic, environmental, and social consequences of their business practices. To undertake these influences effectively, businesses across Australia must utilise a wide range of strategies to attract and retain their employees. An overview of these HRM strategies include job design, training and development, performance management, monetary and non-monetary rewards. The effectiveness of these HRM strategies can be measured through a business’ corporate culture, changes in staff turnover, level of absenteeism and worker satisfaction levels across all key business functions (KBF’s). Businesses such as Qantas, KFC, and McDonald’s Australia utilise various CSR practices in their workplaces to act as an intrinsic and extrinsic motivator for their employees which can assist them in improving their credibility amongst the general public
