Meaningful knowledge to adherents involves significant contextual contributions that result in lasting impacts on the religion or denomination. Muhammad Al-Shafi, born in 767CE, was an Islamic scholar that provided meaningful contributions of his time, altering how the religion is followed and viewed today. Amongst other contributions, Al-Shafi was an accomplished academic that established a personal school of thought, resolved conflict between madhabs, provided fatwa, and changed the process of Islamic jurisprudence. In this way, Muhammad Al-Shafi was of great significance to the Islamic religion, providing extensive knowledge and meaning to adherents, even in the modern context.
