• Methodical and Planned Approach to Guide Tasks and Resources associated with project, monitoring development and system meets objectives and requirements.
• Social and Ethical Issues: WHS, Security of Data, Copyright, Rights and Needs of Individual Team Members satisfied
• Techniques
  • Hiring of Project managers: planning and communication skills and be able to motivate development team, resolve conflicts and ensure project is on time and on budget
    • Communication Skills:
      • Active Listening: Be able to listen to people attentively to interpret the message of speaker by verbally responding the acknowledgement of message being understood
        • Mirroring: Repetition of key words allowing speaker to know that they have their full attention and elaboration would be useful.
        • Paraphrasing
        • Summarizing
        • Clarifying questions
        • • Motivational responses
      • Conflict Resolution:
        • Be able to resolve any issues between project team members on issues regarding resources, scheduling, internal conflict, personal differences etc
      • Negotiation: Be able to offer a compromise on various things such as content, features, cost and time frame(to finish system)
      • Interview/Survey: Assists the project manager to identify existing system, obtain feedback, recruit and assess staff performance and understand objectives of project. Interview and Surveys may be used in different situations eg. Not suitable for large scale interview, standardized questions (may not be able to obtain useful info), Interview should be professional and conversational, polite, putting interviewee at ease, focused and well prepared question, punctuality+ arrange time to meet client, thank interviewer for time
      • Team Building
        • Group functioning as a team: Pros and Cons.
        • Team Building Skills: Be able to be comfortable with each other and resolve differences to ensure productive work.
