• Different denominations hold different views
  • Catholics, Anglicans and orthodox practice infant baptism ? from ancient traditions due to infant mortality
  • Pentecostal and Baptist churches practice believer baptism ? adults have the understanding and desire to join the faith
• Infant baptism requires a Godparent to act on child’s behalf
• Adult baptism requires a sponsor who helps the newly converted person ? individual makes own promises however
