ORIGINS OF THE UNIVERSE

  • The Dreaming came to be through the actions of ancestral spirit beings
  • The Dreaming is not regarded as a myth by Aboriginals
  • It is a metatemporal concept – incorporates past, present, and future

SACRED SITES

  • Dreaming is connected to the land – land is the physical medium through which the Dreaming is lived and communicated
  • Sacred sites have special significance for particular Aboriginal groups
