To what extent is this statement true of the human experience represented in your prescribed text?
William Shakespeare’s 16th century play, The Merchant of Venice, significantly explores “the danger” of deceitful behaviour in which individuals methodically select what they reveal and conceal to others. Through the exploration of human experiences such as discrimination and love, he skilfully emphasises the inconsistencies imbedded in each of us in order to challenge our own actions and motives behind them.
