Maslow’s Hierarchy Of Needs:
- Physiological needs: the basic human needs that one requires to stay alive
- E.G. Air, food, water, sleep, procreation (off-springs)
- Safety + security: things people need to feel safe and secure in life.
- E.G. protection, safe environment, reduced fears + anxiety
- Love: a sense of belonging & being loved by friends, family & community
- Friends, family, community, companionship, belonging
- Esteem: the feeling of self-respect or respect for/by others.
- Freedom to do whatever with no restrictions
- G. Having status within community, recognition, confidence & independence
- Self-actualisation: a sense of completeness, acceptance & self-fulfilment.
- Refers to the need for personal growth and development throughout one’s life
- Once you are self-actualized, you’ve met your full potential as an individual.
- Peace with ones self & ones place in the world
- G. peace, morality, acceptance, creativity, problem solving, self-fulfilment, etc
