Question: Discuss the main factors that gave rise to conflict between the Arabs and Jews in Palestine in the period 1880 to 1947 ?
Intro: The Arab Israeli conflict was a hostile political and military tension between the Arabs and Jews which inevitably led to a significant increase of conflict. The conflict had generally been due to international and intraregional factors. In many circumstances the conflict accelerated evidently due to the Zionist movement that aimed to achieve a Jewish state that encouraged Jewish immigration. Furthermore, Arab nationalism was an essentially ideological movement against Western penetration within the middle east with similar acquired goals to unify their nation as explicitly Arab whilst opposing the UN partition plan.
