Structural organisation of multicellular organisms:

● Organelles: A membrane-bound compartment or structure in a cell that performs a special function, vary depending on cell’s function – vacuole, mitochondria
● Specialised cells: cells that have a specific function – root hair cells, leaf guard cells
● Tissues: A group of similar cells working together to carry out a specific function in multicellular organism – muscle tissue, root tissue
● Organs: two or more tissues that work together to perform one or more specialised tasks – heart, liver, leaves, flowers
● Systems: A group of organs that work together to perform a vital task.

Cell differentiation and specialisation
● Specialisation: a specialised function for a cell
● Differentiation: process by which a cell changes from one type to another, usually an unspecialised cell becoming specialised
